JEANNIE COCHRANE TROPHY
To be sailed for in three races in July and August, the first
qualifying race to be the first completed day of racing at Cowes
Week. The second and third races to be sailed on the Saturday
of the BSC August Regatta and the Sunday of SVYC August Regatta.
If either or both of these races is cancelled or abandoned , the
Committee will select alternative races.
In the event that a boat which has already qualified wins another
qualifying race then the second boat in that race will qualify
and, in the case of the third race, if the first two boats have
already qualified then the third boat in the third race will qualify.
The three winners (or qualifying boats) will sail a final at Bembridge
on a weekend in late August or September. In the event of a qualifying
boat not being able to appear for the final, then the second boat
(or, in the event that the second boat is already qualified as
above, the third boat) in that qualifying race will qualify and
so on in the event that the second, third or any subsequent boat
in that qualifying race is unable to appear.
JANSON SALVER
To be raced for as the Cowes Week Points Cup. The scoring system
detailed in the C.C.C. Sailing Instructions for Redwings for Cowes
Week for the relevant year shall be used. At least five boats
are to be entered otherwise there shall be no award.
JESSEL TROPHY
The trophy will be awarded to that boat that most improves its
position in the Cowes Weeks Points, compared to the position in
the previous year. Boats to be eligible for the Trophy must have
started in at least three quarters of the races (rounded up where
necessary to the next whole number) started in the previous year.
MARGARET PHILLIPS TROPHY
To be awarded to the most successful boat during all the pre-Cowes
Week Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday racing from the early May
Bank Holiday weekend. The low points scoring system as set out
in Appendix A to the Racing Rules of Sailing will apply with a
minimum of 12 starts to count, no discards allowed and applying
paragraph A5 of Appendix A
GUNSTON TROPHY
To be raced for over the late May Bank Holiday, all three races
to count and to be scored on the low points scoring system, as
set out in Appendix A of the Racing Rules of Sailing but not applying
paragraph A5.
MACKINNON TROPHY
Presented to the Redwing Club in 2004 by Peter Romer Lee in memory
of his mother, Mrs June Mackinnon, to be raced for over a weekend
to be specified by the Committee. Both races to count and to be
scored on the low points scoring system not applying paragraph
A5.
THE CARRARA MARBLE TROPHY
Presented to the Redwing Club by Mr & Mrs J Margetson. To
be raced for in 2004 as a points trophy in the six races from
31 July - 5 August and to be scored on the low points scoring
system not applying paragraph A5 and with no discards.
CAMPBELL TROPHY
To be raced for in the week following Cowes Week in a points series
of six races Monday to Saturday inclusive and to be scored on
the low points scoring system not applying paragraph A5 with no
discards.
THE CHRISTOPHER CHETWOOD CUP
Presented to the Redwing Club in 1991 by Judith Chetwood in memory
of Christopher Chetwood ("Chetty"). To be raced for
in a special race helmed by Full or Associate members or children
of Full or Associate Members under the age of 30 years by October
1st that year.
THE VELSHEDA TROPHY
Presented to the Redwing Club in 1991 by Mrs D Rogers in memory
of Mr Dudley Rogers. To be raced for in six races over three weekends
in September and the best four races to count scored on the low
points scoring system not applying paragraph A5. In the event
of there being only four races, all will count. If less than four
races are sailed by a boat then the races not sailed will be scored
as not starting.
QUAIL TROPHY
Presented to the Redwing Club in 1990 by Jonathan Peel. To be
raced for over the early May Bank Holiday.
THE CENTENARY REGATTA CUP
Presented to the Redwing Club in 1997 by Sir Michael Richardson.
To be raced for over the four days of the BSC and SVYC August
Regattas and to be scored on the low points scoring system not
applying paragraph A5 and with no discards.
THE CENTENARY CUP
Presented to the Redwing Club in 1997 byKenneth McAlpine. To be
awarded to the boat achieving the best average points over the
entire season, all boats with 10 or more starts to be eligible,
and scored on the high points system.
THE CREW TROPHY
Presented to the Redwing Club in 1999 and to be raced for in Redwings
helmed by those (whether or not members of the Redwing Club) who
regularly crew but do not normally helm.
THE MERCEDES TROPHY
To be raced for as a single race helmed by Lady full or associate
members of the Redwing Club
